Biography

Vittoria Catara is a plant pathologist whose research focuses on plantassociated bacteria, with particular emphasis on phytopathogenic bacteria, their epidemiology, genomic diversity and the development of advanced diagnostic tools. She also investigates beneficial plantassociated bacteria as biological control agents, exploring their contribution to plant health and their functional roles within the plant microbiome. She is an active member of the Italian Society of Plant Pathology (SIPaV), where she coordinates the Working Group on Phytobacteriology. She also serves as a representative in the Advisory Board of the Mediterranean Phytopathological Union.
