Biography

Dr. Sameh Soliman is Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Sharjah and Founder of the Infectious Diseases & Anti-Infective Therapy Research Lab. He earned his PhD from the University of Guelph, Canada, specializing in chemical ecology and host–microbe interactions, and completed postdoctoral training at Canadian federal laboratories in mycotoxin manipulation and detoxification, followed by advanced research training at UCLA in chemical and biomolecular engineering of natural products. Dr. Soliman has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles in leading international journals, including Nature Microbiology, Nature Communications, and Science Advances, in addition to book chapters and patents. His research program focuses on the discovery and optimization of innovative antimicrobial agents, with an emphasis on translational strategies to combat drug resistance and emerging infectious diseases. Through interdisciplinary collaborations and international partnerships, he continues to advance therapeutic development and contribute to global efforts addressing infectious disease challenges.
