Prof. Dr Mirjana Rajilić-Stojanović is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Belgrade. She obtained her cum laude PhD in gut molecular ecology and is internationally recognized for her expertise in gut microbiota diversity and ecosystem-level organization. Her work focuses on molecular approaches to studying complex microbial communities, microbial taxonomy and systematics, and diversity shifts associated with intestinal and metabolic conditions. A significant part of her research addresses interactions between diet and gut microbiota, including functional foods (probiotics, prebiotics, polyphenols), medicinal herbs, and biomaterials. Prof. Rajilić-Stojanović is a transdisciplinary researcher, educator, and entrepreneur, and has authored over 60 peer-reviewed scientific publications, five book chapters, and four patents. She has delivered more than 60 invited lectures at international meetings and is listed among the top 2% most influential scientists worldwide according to Stanford University rankings.
