Biography

Ina Gajic, MD, is a Professor of Medical Microbiology at the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. She is a specialist in Medical Microbiology and a subspecialist in Bacteriology. Her scientific interests include the genetic basis of antimicrobial resistance, bacterial virulence, and evolution. She is the principal investigator of several research projects and has been an invited speaker as well as a member of the organizing and scientific committees of numerous national and international congresses. She has mentored two PhD thesis and over 15 undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. She serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal Microbiology of the Serbian Society for Microbiology (SSM), she is a member of the National Reference Laboratory for Streptococci, and holds membership in the SSM, the SSM Scientific Committee, the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS), and the FEMS Nomination Committee
