Goran Vukotić is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, where he teaches Biochemistry at the undergraduate and PhD levels. He has 10 years of experience in bacteriophage research, with a focus on lytic phages targeting clinically relevant multidrug-resistant Gram-negative pathogens and on phage activity against biofilm-associated bacteria, particularly MDR Acinetobacter baumannii. His research also covers phage depolymerases, phage DNA modifications, and translational model systems for evaluating phage efficacy in vivo, using the zebrafish (Danio rerio) as model organism. He is currently developing a systemic infection model treated with intravenous phage therapy and a skin wound infection model treated through bath immersion.
