Biljana Nikolić, PhD, is a Full Professor at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Biology, Department of Microbiology. During her professional career she has been lecturing the courses concerning different fields of Microbiology and Genotoxicology. Up to date, she published 76 scientific papers, with h-index 19 and total number of heterocitations 1112 (calculated excluding self-citations). Study of biological activity of natural products (especially the antimicrobial and genotoxic/antigenotoxic properties) is the main direction of her scientific work. Concerning antimicrobial activity, in recent years she is especially focused on studying of the antivirulence and especially antibiofilm effect of the natural products and their nano-derivatives. She is a member of several international and national scientific societies, namely the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS), European Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomic Society (EEMGS), Serbian Biological Society, Serbian Society for Microbiology and Serbian Genetic Society.
