I graduated from the University of Naples “Federico II” in 2006 with a degree in Life Sciences and obtained my PhD in Management of Mountain Environments from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano in 2015. Since 2024, I am Associate Professor of Genetics at the University of Verona. My research focuses on applying next-generation sequencing technologies to address biological questions and on optimizing bioinformatics pipelines to maximize both the quality and quantity of biological information obtained from sequencing data. My current work primarily involves genetic and genomic screening in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems. Throughout my career, however, I have contributed to more than 50 peer-reviewed publications covering a broader range of topics, including metagenomics of environmental and host-associated microbiomes, as well as transcriptomics and proteomics.
