Dr Aleksandra Barać is an infectious diseases specialist and clinical pharmacology subspecialist at the University Clinical Center of Serbia and an incoming Assistant Professor at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Medicine. She is a Scientific Advisor and has been ranked among the top 2% most cited scientists globally for 6 years. Her work focuses on emerging infections, antimicrobial resistance, fungal diseases, and host–pathogen interactions. Dr. Barać is actively involved in ESCMID, serving within the Emerging Infections Subcommittee and contributing to international initiatives on preparedness and early warning systems. She is a visiting professor at the University of Sassari and collaborates widely across Europe on research, education, and guideline development. Her academic contributions include authorship of international guidelines, numerous peer-reviewed publications, and leadership in multidisciplinary projects addressing emerging infectious threats.
