Biography

Prof. Milena Radunović, MD, is Vice-Dean for Science and Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Belgrade, School of Dental Medicine, where she has worked since 2018. She completed her medical degree, specialization in Microbiology and Parasitology and PhD in Molecular Medicine at the University of Belgrade School of Medicine. In 2016, she was a research fellow at the University “Gabriele d’Annunzio” in Italy. Her research focuses on oral biofilms and the oral microbiome, particularly their role in oral and systemic health. She received the National Society of Medical Mycology award for the best published paper in 2019 and the “Đoka Vlajković Foundation” award in 2022 for the best publication by a young researcher at the University of Belgrade. She was also a two-time finalist for the L’Oréal-UNESCO “For Women in Science” award. She has published 54 papers with more than 650 citations (Scopus; h-index 16).
