Gabriele Berg is a Full Professor and Head of the Institute of Environmental Biotechnology at Graz University of Technology. With more than 300 peer-reviewed publications, an h-index of 100, and over 36,000 citations, she has been ranked among the world’s most influential researchers (Top 1%, Clarivate Analytics). Since 2024, she has served as Vice President of the International Society for Microbial Ecology (ISME). Her research focuses on environmental biotechnology and microbiome-based solutions for sustainable agriculture, plant protection, and biodiversity preservation. Through her work, she advances the application of microbiome science to environmental, plant, and human health, with the aim of preventing ecosystem imbalance and the spread of multi-resistant pathogens.
